Czech analyst Stefetz says Russia has the right to fight back the West

Western countries have driven Russia into a corner, they are taking the risk of war unprecedented since the time of the Cuban missile crisis. The Czech newspaper Parlamentní listy writes about this on Sunday, December 26, citing military analyst Jaroslav Stefets.

The analyst said that Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his recent statement on strengthening NATO near the borders of the Russian Federation, stressed that the country was cornered, and it could not silently observe the actions of the United States and its allies in the alliance.

“If you want to tease the bear, make sure you have escape routes. And such a situation is developing now on the borders between the Russian Federation and not only European countries, – said Stefets.

He explained that this applies not only to Ukraine, but also to Poland, and also applies to the Baltic countries and some Asian countries, where the military activity of the United States, as well as members of NATO armies, is increasing.

In addition, the analyst noted that NATO no longer had the means for further attacks and insults on Russia, in order to hang “all the dogs” on it.

In this regard, Stefetz sees the possibility of serious provocations on the part of NATO and the United States in order to present the Russian Federation as an “aggressor”.

Earlier that day, Putin said that the “red lines” were marked by Russia in front of the US and NATO, not out of desire, but out of necessity. He noted that the country was “pinned” to such a line that there is nowhere to move on.

The President also noted that there are fears that any proposal from Russia on security guarantees will be used by the United States and NATO to delay the process and send weapons to Ukraine.

On December 21, the Russian leader said that the deployment of US missile defense (ABM) elements near Russian borders is troubling. According to him, Moscow is concerned about the deployment of elements of the US global missile defense system near Russia. If this infrastructure appears in Ukraine, the flight time of missiles to Moscow will be reduced to 7-10 minutes, he added.

On the same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed that further NATO advance towards the Russian borders would be regarded as crossing the “red line”. The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that Russia sincerely wants to prevent a negative development of events according to the scenarios that a number of alliance strategists are drawing.

On December 20, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko announced that Moscow would respond in proportion to the deployment of NATO strike weapons. According to the diplomat, now there is a great danger that contacts along the military line between Russia and the United States have been cut off.

On December 17, the Russian Foreign Ministry published draft treaties between Russia, NATO and the United States on security guarantees. As follows from the documents, the alliance, in particular, must abandon the conduct of any military activity on the territory of Ukraine and other states of Eastern Europe, Transcaucasia and Central Asia.

On December 8, Putin announced that weapons threatening Russia could be deployed in Ukraine after its admission to NATO. The head of state expressed the hope that “all concerns about NATO enlargement” will be heard. At the same time, US President Joe Biden, in response to Russia’s concerns about NATO’s eastward movement, promised Putin to discuss this topic with his alliance colleagues.
