Two-person team hour run in Rieder Stadtpark

“About 25 degrees, sunny and light wind.” This is the desired weather for Mark Gattermann, deputy chairman of the Innviertel Running Association (LGI), for the twelfth edition of the two-person team hour run on Friday, June 14th.

The mass start for all classes will take place at 6 p.m. in Rieder Stadtpark. The running takes place on a 1.4 kilometer long circular course, with the two team partners taking turns after each lap. The goal is to complete as many laps as possible in an hour.

The children’s races over 200, 400 and 800 meters start at 5:30 p.m. “We would be happy to have many participants in these competitions,” says Gattermann. Last year only four children took part, in 2022 there were 19.

“We will definitely hold a nice running event again. We need a lot of hard-working hands from the club members,” says LGI chairman Johann Kinzl. Last year, a total of 192 participants took part in the two-person team hour run. This year we definitely want to break the 200 mark. If there are 250 runners or more, the round in the city park will be rather tight.

The club for runners and triathletes currently has 100 members. When the club was founded in 2012, the number of members was around 60. “Things are looking up again,” emphasize Kinzl and Gattermann.

Registration for the team hour run is online at www.lg-innviertel.at possible. The entry fee per pairing is 32 euros, with a team age of up to a maximum of 30 years, the entry fee is 16 euros. Participation in the children’s races is free and every child receives a medal. Late entries are possible for a fee of ten euros until 5 p.m. on the day of the competition on June 14th. Start number distribution and shower facilities are available in the Roseggerschule, where the award ceremony will also take place from around 8 p.m.
