According to the West Asian country’s portal, Al Arabiya Business, the company would be named after Saudi Uruguay Airlines (SUA). In turn, they stated that the Executive has already formalized the request to the Saudi General Civil Aviation Authority. The possibility occurs at a time where some specialists postulate that nation as a new China, for its commercial potential, since it has a investment fund with a capital of 700,000 million dollars, equivalent to ten times the Uruguayan GDP.

The government would own 40% of the firm, while Saudi Arabia would have 60% of the company, which would join the portfolio of Saudi Airlines, according to what they say in that country. In addition, the offer would include details about the company’s legal structure, the operational plan, central hub and fleet, as well as the planned routes, the financial plan and future projects.
Another proposal with the same acronym
The possibility of reaching an agreement with the Asian country is reminiscent of that of Uruguayan Aviation Society, who shares the acronym SUA, who months ago sent a letter to the president Luis Lacalle Pou to ratify its intention to form a flag airline, whose base of operations will be in the Carrasco International Airport.
The signature, led by the commander Antonio Rama, who headed the airline company’s destinations between 2002 and 2005 UAir, intends to have six aircraft Airbus in a period of 18 months, and then added four other aircraft of the same type before turning three years old.
According to SUA estimates, the operations could generate 300 jobs highly qualified direct jobs, as well as another 1,500 indirect jobs.
