The woman from the Mistelbach district hiked with her 46-year-old husband from Steinbach am Attersee over the Brennerriesensteig to the Dachsteinblick on Saturday morning. From the summit of the Dachsteinblick, the couple continued on hiking trail 820 towards Mahdlgupf. Suddenly the 49-year-old fell and injured her right ankle. It was no longer possible to continue walking due to the severe pain.
The couple alerted the mountain rescue service with their cell phone. The injured person was rescued using rope in the C10 rescue helicopter. She was flown to the Salzkammergut Clinic in Vöcklabruck.
Also on Saturday, a 37-year-old Viennese woman had to be rescued from the Mahdlgupf via ferrata by helicopter. >> The OÖNachrichten reported.
