The 60-year-old and his friend (63), both from the Gmunden district, went on a trip on their mountain bikes on Saturday. They started in Altmünster in the morning. The tour took them over the Weißenbachtal, the Attersee and from the Gasthof Kienklause via the “Hochlecken” ski area to the Großalmstraße.
The 60-year-old drove ahead on the last section of the route. For an unknown reason, he veered off the forest road to the right on his mountain bike. He touched several head-sized stones and remained injured next to the forest road. His friend provided first aid, then the 63-year-old got help via the emergency app. The 60-year-old was taken to the Gmunden Clinic with injuries.
