Two dead after Danube ship accident in Hungary – more missing

According to police, a hotel ship may have collided with a motorboat carrying eight people. Two occupants died and another person was rescued injured. Three men and two women are still missing, a spokesman for the Budapest Police Headquarters (BRFK) reported at a press conference on Sunday.

Search operation

A message was received late on Saturday evening that a bleeding man had been found near Veröce, the police reported at the press conference on Sunday morning. The injured person then told the officers that he had had an accident on a boat. The authorities then immediately began investigations and launched a search operation.

During the search, the bodies of a man and a woman were recovered. The motorboat was also able to be pulled ashore, the online portal “444.hu” quoted. The police then stopped a hotel ship near Komárom. It was said that there was damage to the side walls.
