The man from the Braunau district was on a municipal road towards Auerbach around 4 p.m. For reasons that are still unclear, he fell in a left-hand bend and landed on a meadow. His partner, who was also riding a motorcycle a few meters in front of him, only noticed the accident after several hundred meters and finally turned around.
After receiving initial care from the Red Cross, the man was taken to the hospital in Ried im Innkreis in the “Europa 3” rescue helicopter.
Accident with electric vehicle
An accident involving a senior electric vehicle also occurred in Braunau on Sunday afternoon. A 62-year-old pensioner was traveling in the vehicle towards the old town.
According to the police, a vehicle was probably coming towards him on the narrow and steep street. During the evasive maneuver, the pensioner lost control of the vehicle. This tipped over and remained on top of the man. The 62-year-old suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Braunau Hospital.
