The Mission Transport Association (MIVA), which was founded 75 years ago and is based in Stadl-Paura, promotes mobility in developing countries. Last year alone, more than 3,000 means of transport were financed thanks to the numerous donors who went to 54 different countries.
“Mobility is diverse: it secures livelihoods, enables education, gives people hope, helps to overcome distances and saves lives in an emergency,” emphasizes MIVA managing director Christine Parzer.
The anniversary will be celebrated on Friday from 12 p.m. in the Christophorus Haus. There will be numerous participation stations from the Stadlingen clubs. Visitors can also test out the curious bicycles at the “Radl-Salon”. The right sound will also be provided, because on this day Life Radio will be taking over the moderation and the stage.
Trial world champion as a guest
The highlight is the appearance of professional cyclist and world champion Thomas Pechhacker, who will take you into the world of extraordinary trial sports with his bike during the breathtaking show acts. Afterwards there will be a meet & greet with an autograph session.
The Stadl-Paura elementary school is also there. Since September, the students have been diligently collecting “school miles” for a good cause. The climate-neutral walking routes are converted into money by sponsors and used to finance MIVA bicycles for children at the “Barefoot School” in Zambia.
Everyone who travels to the anniversary celebration with their own bike will receive the blessing for an accident-free journey from Linz Diocesan and MIVA Bishop Manfred Scheuer at 3:30 p.m.
