After the home European Championship it’s over: Toni Kroos will end his career after the tournament for which he returned to the German national football team.

The 34-year-old, who last played for Real Madrid, announced this on Tuesday via Instagram (see below).
“After 10 years (at Real; note), at the end of this season, this chapter ends. I will never forget this successful time,” wrote Kroos.
The midfielder won almost all major titles, including the World Cup (2014) and the Champions League five times.
