The Kurhaus Schärding was the first hotel in Upper Austria to intensify its commitment to the common good and have its ethical corporate management certified.
In the first public welfare assessment, the Kurhaus was able to get 326 points (out of a possible 1000 points). A good result, as organizations with more than 300 points are considered excellent internationally. In the Kurhaus’ final report, points such as long-term employee loyalty, high guest satisfaction (99.7 percent last year) and sustainable partnerships and regional networking were particularly highlighted. Kurhaus director Harald Schopf is accordingly satisfied. “It was a very intensive twelve months with lots of workshops, research and calculations. My team pulled together really well and really deserved the award,” says Schopf.
The great review is a motivational boost for the Kurhaus staff, and they will continue to work with great enthusiasm to make the guests’ stay in Schärding as pleasant as possible, promises Schopf.
Opening to external guests
One of the first activities from the balance sheet is the opening of the spa practice to non-hotel guests. The “kurhaus to go” is now available for outpatient guests from the region. “It was very important to us to make the services of our medical department, consisting of doctors and therapists, also accessible to people from the region. We want to become a local health care provider,” says Schopf.
