The club will be ranked bottom of the table at the end of the season and will have to be relegated to the third highest level. The complaints from second division club DSV Leoben and potential promoted team SV Austria Salzburg will not be dealt with until Friday.
If both teams receive a negative report, from a sporting perspective, none of the three teams would be relegated. Then the bottom-placed SKU Amstetten and the second-to-last SK Sturm Graz II would also remain in the league. Dornbirn is currently in 14th place. There is still one round left to play.
“The arbitration tribunal came to the conclusion that the financial criteria had been met or that the funds had been fully funded for the coming season at the time of the protest deadline before the protest committee. The submission of new documents after this deadline was not permitted under the ban on new documents and therefore could not be taken into account,” the league explained the decision in a press release. Dornbirn had previously been denied a license in the first and second instance for financial reasons.
