The ham was stolen from a production plant in Rivignano Teor near Udine. The suspects, who were arrested in the regions of Lombardy and Apulia, were identified using video surveillance footage, investigators reported.
The vehicles were also located, including three semi-trailers that had been used to transport the large quantity of Italian prosciutto. Investigators assumed that the theft had been carried out on contract.
