On Wednesday afternoon, the head of the state fire brigade command stood for re-election. 63 eligible voters voted in favor of the proven leadership team around state fire brigade commander Robert Mayer and deputy fire brigade commander Michael Hutterer. While Mayer ran for his position without opposition and received 53 votes, Hutterer prevailed against another candidate. The deputy state fire brigade commander, who was elected to office together with Mayer five years ago, won with 42 of 63 votes. The 18 district and 50 section fire brigade commanders are eligible to vote.
“Congratulations to Fire Chief Robert Mayer and Deputy State Fire Chief Michael Hutterer on their re-election. Over the past five years, they have led the State Fire Brigade Association with confidence and optimism and with great competence, and today’s re-election underlines this. We know that our fire brigades will continue to be in good hands in the future,” said State Governor Thomas Stelzer.
