The cost of housing construction had a variation of 1.51% in April

The ICCV of public participation varied by 1.60%, while the private ICCV varied by 1.45%.

He Housing Construction Cost Index (ICCV) It had a monthly variation of 1.51% in April, while the public participation ICCV varied by 1.60% and the private ICCV varied by 1.45%.

The data comes from the latest construction cost report prepared by the National Institute of Statistics (INE)which had registered a negative variation of 0.15% in the month of March, with a base period in June 2023.

At a general level, the ICCV index number was established at 107.06 and the general one without taxes at 107.21. For its part, the builder index number was 105.92 and the builder without tax was also 105.92, after both experiencing variations of 1.212.

Wage increases impacted the workforce in April

The main factor of positive impact on the variation of the index was the section of “labour” at 0.839, followed by “social laws”; “taxes”; “general expenses” and “permits”. On the other hand, “materials” had a negative impact on the index of 0.087.

The “materials” component was also the only one that had a negative impact on ICCV with public participation (ICCVPu) and the Private ICCV (ICCVPr). Within the general ICCV it presents an index number of 100.11, reflecting a negative variation of 0.26% with respect to the previous month.

In public matters, the ICCVPu experienced a 12-month accumulated variation of 7.9%, in the period between April 2023 and last April.

Likewise, the “labor” component presents an index number of 112.46, meaning a variation of 2.73% compared to March. In April, the workforce underwent changes following the increase granted under the Wage Council.
