A 55-year-old man from Lower Austria was driving a truck in the direction of Vienna. Shortly before 3 p.m., the left front tire burst near Vorchdorf. The truck hit the concrete central barrier, tipped over and slid about 50 meters further.
The driver was uninjured and was able to free himself from the cab. Cargo that was thrown onto the opposite lane during the accident damaged two cars. According to the police, there was minor damage to property.
During the rescue work, the accident site was difficult to pass via the hard shoulder until 5.40 p.m. At one point, the A1 towards Vienna had to be closed completely. The result was a traffic jam more than ten kilometers long.
