Networked navigation, the KeyFree system and a blind spot assistant are now standard. Ford is optionally installing an evasive and turning assistant and, from September, a trailer maneuvering assistant. In the interior, the central screen has grown to 10 inches and the cockpit display to 10.25 inches. Smartphones are now integrated wirelessly (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto). The loading volume has also been increased, to 3.1 cubic meters for the L1 wheelbase and 3.7 cubic meters for the L2 wheelbase. At the same time, the payload has increased to up to 792 kilograms and the trailer load to 1500 kilograms.
Two diesel engines to start
Two diesel variants are available at the market launch, which is now taking place: 90 kW (122 hp) with 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and 75 kW (102 hp) with 6-speed manual transmission. Prices start at 30,360 euros (gross).
The Transit Connect with plug-in hybrid technology will follow in September. It combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor. Together, the drive components produce 110 kW (150 hp) and 350 Nm. A 6-speed dual-clutch transmission is installed as standard, and Ford states the electric range as 110 kilometers. The payload is 743 kilograms, and the towing capacity is 1,400 kilograms.
