British Foreign Minister Liz Truss and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg held telephone talks on Tuesday, December 28, during which they discussed the situation around Ukraine. The British Foreign Secretary announced this in Twitter.

“I discussed with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg Russia’s aggression towards Ukraine,” Truss wrote.

According to the head of the department, NATO strongly supports Ukraine, reports RT.

The statement notes that “any dialogue should be based on full respect for the sovereignty of Ukraine.”

Earlier that day, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, speaking with the head of Poland’s National Security Bureau Pavel Solokh and head of the Bureau of International Policy Jakub Kumokh, said that the United States had assured NATO allies of its readiness to support them in the situation around Ukraine.

On December 17, the Russian Foreign Ministry published draft agreements between Russia and the United States and NATO on security guarantees. According to the documents, the alliance should abandon any military activity on the territory of Ukraine and other states of Eastern Europe, Transcaucasia and Central Asia.
