Witnesses observed the three 15 and 16 year old teenagers on Wednesday as they damaged a book at a bus stop in Aken in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district and then burned parts of it in a wastepaper basket, police and prosecutors announced in Dessau on Thursday.
Investigations into incitement
When the police arrived, the fire had already gone out. The remains of the book were a copy of the “Diary of Anne Frank”. The accused were handed over to their parents after the police measures were completed. The police began an investigation on suspicion of incitement to hatred.
