The audience in the Kurhaus in Bad Aussee was able to vote for this year’s Daffodil Queen for the 64th Daffodil Festival – three queens were up for selection, who had already been chosen by a top-class jury at a casting in May: Theresa Kaiser (Bad Goisern), Leonie Krasnitzer (Seekirchen am Wallersee) and Claudia Walkner (Bad Mitterndorf) were up for election as this year’s Daffodil Queen.
Clear decision in the election
There was no doubt – it was a clear result, the counting was monitored by a notary: Claudia Walkner from Bad Mitterndorf now takes over the reign as the new Daffodil Queen, alongside her two princesses. “I’m feeling incredibly good, I’m overwhelmed. It’ll probably take a while to realise that,” said Claudia Walkner after her election.
This year, the royals were once again outfitted by local companies: the Ausseer Dirndl comes from Ausseer Handdrucken, the silk scarf and silk apron from Sekyra, the traditional jacket was provided by Rastl Gwand, the traditional shoes come from Schuhhaus Laimer, the leather bags from Eder Geschenke and jewelry from Juwelier Pleiner.
