As the ÖAMTC announced on Saturday afternoon, a traffic jam of around 25 kilometers occurred on the Tauern Autobahn (A10) between Altenmarkt and Pfarrwerfen due to overloading. This led to numerous accidents and block clearances or tunnel closures, it said in a press release.

Construction site as a bottleneck

The Golling-Werfen construction site on the A10 in Salzburg “once again proved to be bottleneck number 1,” according to the ÖAMTC. In Tyrol, the Fernpass road (B179) between Nassereith and Füssen and the Inntal motorway (A12) before the Kufstein border crossing towards Bavaria were overloaded.
