A 40-year-old Serbian citizen drove a truck on Tuesday evening on the L537, Sattledter Straße coming from Lambach in the direction of Linden, Steinerkirchen an der Traun community. At the same time, an 18-year-old from the Kirchdorf district drove his car on the L1242, Eberstalzeller Straße coming from Wels towards Linden. A 16-year-old friend from the Kirchdorf district was in the passenger seat.
Shortly before 5 p.m. there was a collision between the two vehicles in the intersection area. The truck coming from the direction of Lambach collided with the tractor unit against the passenger side of the car. As a result of the impact, the car turned 90 degrees and came to a standstill about 50 meters from the scene of the accident on the L537 lane. The 16-year-old passenger was trapped motionless in the vehicle by the force of the impact and had to be rescued from the driver’s side.
The emergency team tried to reanimate him, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. The 18-year-old was brought to the Wels Clinic with serious injuries.
