The first responder jumped into the stream and ripped open the back door of the car with all his strength, reported the Upper Austrian police. The 19-year-old was able to climb out of the car on his own. He was taken to hospital by the rescue team as a precaution. However, no injuries were found there.

The 19-year-old had previously driven his car off the road in a right-hand bend between Ramerding and Riegerting in the pouring rain and crashed into a tree trunk. The force of the impact caused the car to overturn and land on its roof in the stream.

  • Localization: The driver was travelling from Ramerding towards Riegerting:

The 19-year-old was very lucky. If the unknown rescuer had not come to his aid, the accident would probably have gone unnoticed for a long time. The stream is densely overgrown and therefore difficult to see.
