With electrode lines on the lake floor, the ecological balance in the resi lake can be promoted and the water quality can be improved in the long term. This technology on the bottom of the lake ensures optimal water quality.
With this targeted project, the municipality of Kleinzell was able to permanently improve the quality of the quarry lake water. In addition, surrounding trees and bushes were thinned out. Municipal residents expressed their concern about a “clear-cutting of the Resilacke”. According to Mayor Klaus Falkinger, “there is no question of that”. It is just a matter of normal bush trimming. Nothing stands in the way of the new bathing season. Bettina Kapeller’s bathing buffet and the beach volleyball court complement the offering.
The Resilacke, with a water surface of around 8000 square meters and a maximum depth of 20 meters, used to be a quarry in which granite was mined until 1974, after which the quarry filled up with rising groundwater. The high stone walls around the lake are often used by bathers as “diving platforms”, but this is associated with considerable dangers. This quarry lake owes its name to the first name of the last owner – her first name was Theresia. In 1989, the municipality of Kleinzell was able to purchase this area and make it available as a publicly accessible leisure facility on a long-term basis.
Good water quality
The water quality is generally very good, but sometimes there is a massive and widespread appearance of algae or blue-green algae. This indicates the penetration or remobilization of nutrients from the sediment into the water. The electrode project counteracts this.
