In Austria alone, around 100,000 people are affected by the so-called “white spot disease”. Vitiligo is typically characterized by suddenly appearing white or pigment-free patches on the skin, which may or may not gradually expand. Vitiligo is neither painful nor contagious, but is nevertheless usually a major burden for those affected. What many people do not know is that although vitiligo cannot be cured, it is now very easy to treat.
