It is about a serious incident that is said to have occurred in mid-May. The traditional school trip of the Aloisianum private high school to Assisi (Italy) took place from May 12th to 17th. 44 sixth-grade students and three teachers took part. On the third day of the trip, an attack is said to have occurred. “On Tuesday after dinner, seven boys are said to have carried the girl into a room. Then they locked the door,” said headmaster Michael Haderer in an interview with OÖNachrichten. There, the girl was forced to massage the students. The student then confided in the teachers on site that night. “I found out about the incident on Wednesday morning. The accused boys had to return home immediately afterward,” said Haderer.

The principal then reported this to the education department, and the incident was later reported to the police. “We were in close contact with the girl’s parents the whole time,” says Haderer. The students, who are all between 15 and 16 years old and some of whom were in the same class as the teenager, reacted differently to the serious accusations. Some are said to have admitted to the crime, while others have so far remained silent about the allegations.
Boys visited the Aloisianum until yesterday
But it took another three weeks before there were any consequences. “Yesterday we terminated the private school contract with the parents of four boys. Three students were warned,” confirmed Haderer. In the meantime, the accused were still allowed to attend school. The student has not been to the Aloisianum since the incident. It is not yet clear whether and when the girl will return to her class. “The first appointments have now been made so that the class can grow together again. We want to create a framework in which the student feels comfortable again,” said Haderer.
Haderer has been headmaster at the Aloisianum for three years. “Something like this has never happened to us before. We are currently going through a difficult phase. Violence is something that occurs in schools and the question is how to deal with it. We wanted to set clear consequences. We are clearly against violence and want to convey these values to our students as well.”
The case is now with the Linz public prosecutor’s office. “We are still at the very beginning of the investigation; it is about suspicion of deprivation of liberty and coercion,” Ulrike Breiteneder, spokeswoman for the Linz public prosecutor’s office, is quoted as saying in a media report.
