Not only Bad Ischl (see above), but also Laakirchen is getting a new hotel. It is being built on the site of the former retirement home next to the town hall. The home will be demolished between July and October.
Construction of the four-star business hotel with 70 rooms will then begin. The hotel is aimed primarily at business travelers and bus tourists. The future hotel will thus meet the needs of the regional economy, but will also be an asset to tourism.
From the point of view of Mayor Fritz Feichtinger (SPÖ), the hotel is “an important step towards the development of the town centre and the revitalisation of our local restaurants and businesses”. The internationally active companies in the industrial town of Laakirchen will thus have the opportunity to accommodate business guests or, at short notice, employees.
The hotel operator is the eee Hotel Group, a family-run company based in Marchtrenk. It already has similar hotels in Graz, Liezen, Traun, Perg, Marchtrenk, Gunskirchen and Eberstallzell. The hotel is being built by the Goiserer construction company Kieninger.
