Resolutions for 2022: 46 percent are planning a fast

This is also the case in the representative fasting survey conducted by the Marienkron Kurhaus in Mönchhof in Burgenland. This showed that 46 percent of Austrians are planning fasting days or cures for 2022. Men take on more sport and exercise, women plan more often to eat healthier. Both sexes want to lose weight.

39 percent of the population, however, strive for a better well-being with a healthy diet and 34 percent for cleansing and detoxification of the body. Fasting is already a tradition for twelve percent. Intermittent fasting is still very much in vogue – especially among women.

Less alcohol, quit smoking

In addition to fasting, many people in Austria also have to drink less alcohol and give up smoking on their to-do list for 2022. Help for the successful implementation of these projects can be found on the website mindbase.at of the Institute for Addiction Prevention of the Addiction and Drug Coordination Vienna. Here you will find high quality and scientifically proven programs to promote mental health.

Programs to reduce alcohol consumption and tobacco or cannabis consumption can also be found here, as well as an online self-help program entitled “Played enough” to get out of gambling. All programs on mindbase.at are free and anonymous.
