At Lake Faak near Villach, about two people who were traveling with a SUP and an inflatable canoe were rescued from distress at sea. Some operations were also reported from Villach itself, where a hailstorm with heavy rain hit.
The weather had changed quickly in the afternoon, which is why they set out on a patrol on the lake, said the Austrian Faaker See Water Rescue Service. On the north side of Lake Faaker See there was already strong wind and rain, as well as high waves and hail. The lifeguards noticed the two water sports enthusiasts, took them into the boat and brought them to the shore unharmed.
