Groundhog Day: Geosphere Austria (formerly ZAMG) has once again issued a weather warning for the afternoon and evening. An orange thunderstorm warning, the second warning level on the three-stage scale, is in effect for most of the state until midnight.
Heavy rain, storms and hail
Showers and thunderstorms are developing in the moist, unstable air mass, which have the potential to cause severe weather and can last well into the night. Heavy rain, gusts of wind and hail are again a threat. This also means that local flooding and problems in road traffic, for example due to mudslides or fallen trees, are to be feared.
