A patrol from the state traffic department noticed the young man’s car on the A1 in the Vöcklabruck district at around 1:50 p.m. on Saturday because it was racing along the Westautobahn at up to 170 km/h. They stopped the vehicle at the Regau exit and quickly noticed that excessive speed was not the only problem. The 24-year-old showed clear symptoms of drug impairment. A medical officer confirmed the suspicion shortly afterwards. The driver had to temporarily hand over his driving license, the police announced on Saturday evening.
