Trump woos Nevada by abolishing tip tax

Trump has already promised to permanently introduce the tax cuts passed by the Republicans in 2017, which expire at the end of 2025.

“This is the first time I’ve said this, and it will be a great joy for hotel workers and people who get tips, because when I’m in office, we won’t be raising taxes on tips,” said the Republican presidential candidate on Sunday at a campaign event in Nevada. The US state is considered one of the key states for the presidential election in November. Both US President Joe Biden and Trump are given good chances of winning the election in the so-called “swing state”.

Trump has already promised to permanently implement the tax cuts passed by the Republicans in 2017, which expire at the end of 2025. Tax experts estimate that this would increase the US deficit by around four trillion dollars over a ten-year period compared to current forecasts.

Nevada is one of six or seven swing states that are expected to decide the outcome of the election. According to the latest Fox News poll following Trump’s guilty verdict in the hush money trial, Trump is five percentage points ahead of Biden in Nevada.
