The man was under strong suspicion of having killed his mother in their shared apartment, police announced on Monday. He was arrested there while heavily intoxicated. The Austrian has not yet confessed. A motive was not yet known, police said.
An autopsy was carried out on Monday morning. It revealed that the woman had died as a result of “blunt force trauma to the skull or violence to the neck.” Further investigations were ongoing.
