As reported, the Linz People’s Party welcomes the SPÖ’s announcement that it will put together an aid package for Linz theaters worth 250,000 euros. The proposal by SP culture spokesman Stefan Giegler to increase the three-year funding for cultural associations and to automatically adjust it to inflation in the future is also supported by City Councilor for Culture Doris Lang-Mayerhofer.

Expansion to all clubs
But the VP goes one step further and demands such support for all other clubs as well. “We cannot leave Linz clubs, with their valuable and largely voluntary work, stuck with their cost increases. This does not only affect cultural clubs,” say Lang-Mayerhofer and the chairwoman of the Linz People’s Party, Michaela Sommer. The VP therefore wants to submit a corresponding motion at the next municipal council meeting.
