Runaway dog temporarily paralyzed highway
Police officers provided the dog with water and dry food.

“Little runaway paralyzes motorway,” was the title given by the Carinthian police to today’s operation on the Karawanks motorway (A11) near Villach. At around 7:30 a.m., the police were notified about a dog that had run away.

The tunnel St. Nicholas had to be closed for a short time. After half an hour, the patrol finally managed to catch the Chow Chow dog. She was then returned to her owner. The woman stated that her pet had chased a cat on Saturday and then disappeared.

The search for the dog was no easy task: water rescue teams and a dog squad had previously tried in vain to stop the animal. Passers-by had also spotted it in the Drau, but the water rescue team failed to catch it. It was not until Monday that there was a “happy ending”.
