The average value in pesos (UYU) was 19,444 pesos, according to information based on the Rental Guarantee Service and ANDA records. In turn, the number of contracts It experienced a variation of 0.15% on a monthly basis and 1.55% on a year-on-year basis, reaching 86,083 units on average.


In April 2023, there was a monthly variation of 0.60% in the average price of current contracts, while there was a 6.38% year-on-year variation. Regarding the number of rental contracts, these had grown by 0.16% monthly and 0.95% year-on-year.
The three departments in which the greatest interannual variations were recorded were Paysanduwith 6.44%; Maldonado, with 6.16%; and Cologne, with 5.82%. For its part, Montevideo It had a rate of 5.11%, just below the national average.

Montevideo accounts for almost 80% of the country’s rental contracts
Of the 86,083 current rental contracts, 77.10% belong to the department of Montevideo; 11.6% to Cannelloni; 1.94% to Saint Joseph; 1.60% to Maldonado; 1.33% to Paysandú and 1.23% to Colonia.
The number of rental contracts in Montevideo (66,372) registers a variation of 1.03% compared to April of last year; while in Canelones one of 1.69%; and in San José one of up to 4.63%.
