The child fell into a bush next to the sidewalk. A passerby discovered the boy lying on the sidewalk, crying. The mother (32) was not at home. A relative was looking after the boy and another child. The 32-year-old was reported and the child and youth services were informed about the incident, police said on Wednesday.
Mother was not at home
Alerted officials first had to find out which apartment in the apartment building on Neilreichgasse the child had fallen from. As it turned out, the two-year-old’s mother was not even in the apartment because she was taking another child to school. An underage daughter and a relative who was apparently supposed to look after the children were in the apartment. The Vienna Emergency Services provided emergency medical care for the injured child and took him to a hospital.
