The European Union will buy 665,000 doses of vaccine against bird flu

Amid the emergence of new cases of bird flu in United States and Australiathe European Union announced that it signed a “framework contract” that allows it buy nails 665,000 doses of a vaccine which prevents the transmission of the virus to humans.

In a statement, the European Commission (the EU’s executive arm) said the contract includes an option for another 40 million additional doses.
