Construction site: residents complain about closures

Local residents document the road closures and are annoyed: agreed times are not being kept. (private)

Residents have been annoyed for months about a construction site in the Gramastettner Rodltal: Because the construction site of three buildings, including an apartment building, is located in a dead end street, residents keep complaining about blocked access roads: “We often can’t even cross the street on foot or we’re late for work or school,” one resident told the OÖN. A WhatsApp group set up specifically to give timely notice also only works “to a very limited extent”. There is a second access road to the dead end street via a bridge. However, this is so dilapidated that it is not allowed to be used by vehicles. In addition, according to one resident, agreements about when the street can be closed are “not taken very seriously”.

Problem known

The problem is also known in the community hall, and Mayor Andreas Fazeni is trying to calm people down: “We are of course aware of the situation with the dead end and have also contacted the developer,” he says. Of course, it is in the nature of the construction site that deliveries can also be made at short notice.

He also refers to the WhatsApp group mentioned. One ray of hope for the residents is that the construction site will soon be finished, or the major work is coming to an end. Of course, the cart is already partially stuck. “It would be good if we could approach each other again and show more understanding on both sides.” The situation is not easy for the community, especially since the disruptions are only minor: “I have not seen any serious offenses committed by the developer,” says Fazeni. But he also understands that unannounced deliveries can be annoying. But construction sites always bring with them stress: “If you have to work on it for weeks, it is a burden and not fun.” However, short-term closures are reasonable to a certain extent: “We try to help and mediate,” promises Fazeni.
