Austrian football fans are slowly starting to get excited. Tomorrow the 2024 European Football Championship kicks off in our neighbouring Germany. The hosts will face Scotland. The Austrians will then enter the tournament on Monday. Their opponents are France, a team that is one of the tournament favourites. Kick-off is at 9 p.m.
In the Innviertel and places near the border, several public viewings invite you to join in the excitement, the OÖN has reported extensively. The public viewing in the SV Guntamatic Ried stadium village is accompanied by the OÖN as media partner. All games that start at 6 p.m. or 9 p.m. will be shown on a large screen. For tomorrow’s opening game, the weather-proof stadium village will be open from 8 p.m. with free admission. “The first 100 beers are free on Friday,” says SV Ried marketing manager Tim Entenfellner, who is looking forward to the European Championships. “You can feel a certain euphoria in Austria. So I hope our team goes far. In general, I’m looking forward to many beautiful and emotional football evenings in our stadium village,” says Entenfellner.
“Our public viewing is 100 percent independent of the weather. I really hope that lots of football fans will come to us to watch the games together,” says Robert Auer, head of catering at SV Ried. In addition to drinks, a variety of dishes will of course be on offer.
