Linz economics researchers received calls to Vienna, Berlin and Hong Kong

Institute director Rudolf Winter-Ebmer sees award for research. (JKU)

The reputation of a research institution can also be seen in how sought-after its employees are when it comes to professorships at other universities. Good news for the Institute of Economics at the JKU: Last year alone, four researchers from the institute were offered professorships in Germany and abroad. Institute director Rudolf Winter-Ebmer is correspondingly pleased: “We are of course very happy about this proof of quality from our young colleagues, because it evaluates and distinguishes our work in recent years.” The focus on empirical microanalysis is paying off.

Researchers from Linz accepted positions at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, the Free University of Berlin and the University of Hong Kong, but one at the University of Hohenheim was rejected.
