Venezuela will have the next elections presidential elections on July 28 with 10 candidates and a main dispute between the president Nicolas Maduro and the opposition candidate, Eduardo González Urrutia (MUD). In recent days, consulting firms released numbers that show both as possible presidents. However, a positive fact alerts the rest of the forces: Maduro grew in all the surveys.

A new publication from the Hinterlaces agency revealed that The Venezuelan president leads by a wide margin the voting intention ahead of the presidential elections on July 28. As the data states, 55.6% of voters would be inclined to re-elect Maduro, while 22.1% would choose the opposition candidate Edmundo González.

The pollster Dataviva also marks Maduro as the main leader in voting intention: he obtains the 56.2%and surpasses his escort by a wide margin, González Urrutia, who leads the opposition vote, reaching 19.3%.

A third study, that of Parametrica, places Maduro in first place but with an adherence of 43%. The opposition candidate, meanwhile, reaches 32%. The pollster Ideadatos reported in its latest analysis from May that there is a clear preference for the candidate Mature with more than 52% of voting intentions, on the contrary, González Urrutia obtained 21% of intention.

Felix Seijas, director of the pollster Delphos, states that the winner could be Urrutia but, however, he revealed that the voting intention of the official candidate rose up to 26%. For the analyst, the growth of the ruling party in the polls would be an “alert for the opposition” since, in this framework, they must reinforce the electoral strategy with the objective of “taking care of the votes” and “not falling into triumphalism.”

This week the international agency AFP published in Factual, its news department fact checkan article in which denies four surveys spread through social networks that consider the opposition candidate the winner Venezuelan Edmundo González Urrutia, for publishing inaccurate data. The results were checked by the agency and showed that the responses from the pollsters Datincorp, Meganalisis, Datanalisis and Hercon were “biased.”

Venezuela: interest in participating in the elections increases

The Hinterlaces survey, in addition, underlines the interest of the population in participating in the elections, with 67% of those surveyed stating their willingness to vote. In terms of party preference, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv) and the Great Patriotic Pole have 53.2% support, well ahead of the opposition’s Unitary Platform, which reaches 14.3%.

These results reflect a favorable scenario for Maduro and his movement, indicating a solid expansion of his voter base throughout the country.
