Even on the third weekend in June, summer temperatures are currently hardly in sight: Although today’s Saturday started quite sunny, brisk westerly winds with peaks of up to 60 km/h reached the state already in the morning.
In the afternoon, isolated showers will pass through the southern mountains and the Mühlviertel, and the clouds will thicken towards the evening. The highest temperatures will reach around 24 degrees Celsius around midday, then it will become significantly cooler, predicts Geosphere Austria.
Summery start to the week
The changeable weather with a mixture of sun and clouds and highs between 18 and 23 degrees will continue in Upper Austria on Sunday, with isolated thunderstorms expected in the southern mountains in the evening. But summer is still a long way off, say the meteorologists at Geosphere Austria.
It will not be until Monday that sunshine will prevail again, with temperatures reaching 27 degrees. Isolated thunderstorms and rain showers could occur again in the southern mountains. The 30-degree mark is expected to be exceeded next Tuesday: plenty of sunshine is expected across the state, and according to meteorologists, there are currently no strong thunderstorms in sight.
