The Monday starts with pure sunshine in most of the country. A few extensive layered clouds appear from the west, and high cumulus clouds develop over the mountains and hills during the day, resulting in rain showers and thunderstorms. Most of them will initially be in North Tyrol, and in the afternoon they can be expected in the entire mountainous region and Alpine foothills. The wind will be light to moderate from the east to the southwest. Early temperatures will rise to ten to 16 degrees, and the daytime maximum temperatures to 24 to 29 degrees.

Temperatures of more than 30 degrees

At the Tuesday A sunny day is forecast, mostly only high clouds. In the afternoon a few flat cumulus clouds will form in the mountains, but the risk of showers is very low. The wind will be light, moderate from the southeast to the south along the main Alpine ridge. Early temperatures will reach twelve to 18 degrees, with maximum temperatures during the day reaching 26 to 32 degrees.

The high pressure influence in the Eastern Alps will be Wednesday slowly weakening from the north. This means that the pressure differences on the main Alpine ridge are increasing with a sustained southwesterly flow. The sunny and hot weather of midsummer remains the dominant weather element. Occasionally, cumulus clouds over the mountains grow into thunderstorm towers, which can also develop into severe weather in some areas. As a result, thunderstorm activity in the west continues to increase. Moderate winds are blowing from different directions. Early temperatures rise to 12 to 18 degrees, and the daytime maximum temperatures to 28 to 33 degrees.

Severe weather potential towards the end of the week

With the south-westerly current, Thursday persistent hot, energy-rich air has been brought to Austria. The pressure differences between the southern and northern sides of the Alps are increasing. Once again it is generally sunny. The tendency for thunderstorms is increasing, especially along the northern side of the Alps from the west, as well as in the south, with the potential for severe weather in isolated cases. In the eastern half, high cloud fibers and possibly Sahara dust are slightly obscuring the sunshine. There is a light to moderate wind from the south to the east, with brisk southerly winds in foehn wind lanes. Early temperatures reach 16 to 21 degrees, and the daytime maximum temperatures are as hot as midsummer, 28 to 34 degrees.

At the Friday At the solstice, the Eastern Alps are still in a strong southwesterly flow with very energetic air. Air pressure continues to fall in the west as a disturbance moves through, and during the day there is already a change in air masses from Vorarlberg to Salzburg. This means that thunderstorm activity from the west also increases from the early hours of the morning, with a high risk of severe weather particularly along the northern side of the Alps. During the course of the day, partly heavy thunderstorms are also expected everywhere in the eastern half. As a disturbance moves through, the wind turns from the west and picks up noticeably. Temperatures from west to east in the morning 14 to 24 degrees, in the afternoon 23 to 35 degrees.
