Usually it is the politicians who swing the shovels at groundbreaking ceremonies, but in Peuerbach the kindergarten children also helped out a lot at the official start of the new kindergarten building.
The new building of the children’s educational facility in the town of Bruck is a cooperation project between the municipalities of Peuerbach and Steegen. Seven groups are planned. The project by architect Gerald Steiner won an architectural competition. The non-profit housing cooperative (WSG) was commissioned as the total contractor.
The construction costs amount to around 3.9 million euros net.
“This new building ensures that childcare in both communities will continue to be secured. Most of the contracts were awarded to local companies,” says Peuerbach’s mayor Roland Schauer (Citizens’ List). For Mayor Herbert Lehner (VP) from Steegen, the project is an important investment for the future. He also stresses the good cooperation between the communities. This was also highlighted by Education Officer and Deputy Governor Christine Haberlander (VP): “The cooperation between the two communities is an excellent example of efficient cooperation.”
The children from the Bruck-Waasen kindergarten symbolically laid the foundation stone for the new building and, together with their teachers, also contributed to the groundbreaking ceremony with music. The kindergarten is scheduled to be completed next year.
