The chase on Saturday between the young car driver and the emergency services lasted for more than ten kilometers, as the Lower Austria State Police Directorate announced on Monday.
The young man had not stopped when asked by the police and had raced through the town at 120 km/h in the rain and poor visibility. The police had already noticed his car because it had an expired inspection sticker and serious defects. The Lower Austrian was finally arrested in Hollabrunn. In total, the officers counted 30 administrative offenses. The 18-year-old is expected to face charges from the Korneuburg public prosecutor’s office and the district administration.
