As of Friday there were 30,177 active corona cases in Austria (1,278,619 confirmed since the start of the pandemic). 1,234,709 people have recovered since the outbreak of the epidemic, and 2,483 were considered healthy again within the past 24 hours.

32 deaths have been reported since yesterday; the seven-day average was 16.6 per day. 116 deaths have been recorded in the past seven days. In total, the Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 13,733 deaths in Austria since the outbreak. Per 100,000 inhabitants, 153.7 people have died from or with Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There were 1,065 people in the hospital on Friday, 56 fewer than the day before. 331 people were cared for in intensive care units. That number has decreased by 14 since yesterday and has decreased by 87 patients in a week.

More positive PCR tests

A total of 574,399 rapid PCR and antigen tests were registered in the past 24 hours. Of these, 460,451 were meaningful PCR tests with a positive rate of 0.8 percent. This 24-hour value is above the average of the previous week (0.4 percent of the PCR tests positive on average).

34,640 vaccinations were carried out on Thursday. Of these, 3,521 were first stitches (10.16 percent). That number is above the seven-day average of 3,139. 11,247 vaccinations were second stings. This is above average on a seven-day average (9,475). 19,872 third bites on Thursday are 57.37 percent of all vaccinations carried out (seven-day average: 18,300). According to the data in the e-vaccination pass, 6,323,812 people and thus 70.8 percent of Austrians have valid vaccination protection.

Highest seven-day incidence in Tyrol

The protection rate (valid vaccination certificate) is highest in Burgenland at 76.3 percent. In Lower Austria 72.6 percent of the population have valid vaccination protection, in Styria 70.5 percent. After Vienna (70), Tyrol (69.7), Vorarlberg (67.9), Salzburg (67.5) and Carinthia (67.3), Upper Austria brings up the rear with 66.4 percent.

The federal state with the highest seven-day incidence is currently Tyrol with 342.6, followed by Vienna, Vorarlberg and Salzburg (255.8, 249 and 211, respectively). Lower Austria (175), Carinthia (166.2), Styria (143), Upper Austria (141) and Burgenland (131.4) follow. As of Friday, 61 new infections were added within 24 hours in Burgenland, 157 in Carinthia, 587 in Lower Austria, 341 in Upper Austria 474, 273 in Styria, 521 in Tyrol, 214 in Vorarlberg and 996 in Vienna.
