The “Good Advice for Redistribution” committee commissioned by Engelhorn to carry out the distribution will also publish a final report in the autumn, as was announced at a press conference on Tuesday. The committee, a council of 50 citizens, decided on the high-profile distribution of Engelhorn’s assets, with diversity playing an important role. This should “represent a reflection of Austrian society,” as project manager Alexandra Wang emphasized. The focus of the distribution was on questions such as the seriousness of the organizations and how the money could be used in such a way that it would have a long-term effect.

Distribution over several years
The exact 24.9 million euros will not be distributed in one go, but over several years, Wang stressed. This is to ensure a certain degree of planning for the initiatives supported. Engelhorn herself did not speak at the press conference. She deliberately wanted to stay out of the picture and “not steal the show” from the council, as was said at the press conference. The millionaire heiress herself plans to enter working life.
