After four successes in a row, the Salzburg native had to admit defeat only to the Slovenian Nika Kriznar on New Year’s Eve. In the eighth competition of the season, it was her seventh place on the podium. The 20-year-old can fight back on New Year’s Day and further expand her superior overall lead in the World Cup.
In the last competition of the year, which was the first part of a New Year’s Eve doubles, which was held for the first time in knockout mode, Kramer was still in the lead after Kriznar after the first round. In the decision, however, the Slovenian struck back and won well ahead of the ÖSV young star, who was not flawless in the second jump under difficult wind conditions. Third was Kriznar’s teammate Ema Klinec. In the overall standings, Kramer is already more than 200 points ahead of the fifth-placed German Katharina Althaus.
The three-time Ljubno winner Daniela Iraschko-Stolz came in seventh as the second best Austrian. Immediately behind, Lisa Eder and Eva Pinkelnig followed in the top ten. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger was 16, Sophie Sorschag 22 on her season debut. The former victorious jumper Chiara Kreuzer was missing due to her current form weakness.
The two competitions in Slovenia will be followed by a four-week break due to the pandemic-related cancellation of two Japan World Cups. It will not continue until the end of January with Willingen as the last stop before the Olympic Games.
