From back pain to dizziness and losing weight to sleep disorders, the range of topics at today’s Health Day, to which the OÖNachrichten invited together with the OÖ Health Holding, the University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions and Uniqa, spans.
Since the beginning of the event, visitors have been queuing up for the various preventive check-ups. Students from the University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions Upper Austria measure blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol, among other things. Experts from Uniqa analyze the spine and answer questions about posture and mobility.
Prevention “extremely important”
“All of these examinations are preventive and are therefore extremely important,” stressed Deputy Governor and State Health Minister Christine Haberlander (VP) at the opening of the OÖN Health Day. It is very important to her to strengthen the health literacy of Upper Austrians: “If people know what is good for them, they live longer and better.”
