The Heritage and Progress Foundation for the Development and Support of Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Initiatives congratulated the children of the Russian community of Nagorno-Karabakh on the New Year. This was announced on December 30 by the press service of the fund.
“Dear children! The main thing is that you have faith in tomorrow. In that beautiful fairy tale, which, I am absolutely sure, will come true, you just have to believe in it very much and want it. I congratulate you and wish you a happy New Year, as much joy in your life as possible, and we will always be there and will always try to support you, ”said in a video message the President of the Foundation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Armais Albertovich Kamalov.
The festive event was held at the Charles Aznavour Cultural Center in Stepanakert for 150 children from the Russian community. The children were presented with a theatrical New Year’s fairy tale led by Lyudmila Klochko and presented with gifts, including unique New Year’s toys – glazed gingerbread made by Anna Emke.
“Today in Russia there are people who clearly understand the importance of developing full-fledged, strong Russian-Armenian ties, especially in this difficult period for the entire Armenian people. We must not forget that Karabakh is a historically native land for Russians. Russians have always been and always will be next to the brotherly Christian Karabakh people. God grant! ” – said the head of the Russian community, Alexander Bordov, following the results of the festive events.
Earlier, the Heritage and Progress Foundation organized a New Year party in Stepanakert for 600 children from the families of the dead, wounded and internally displaced persons with the participation of Vitaly Milonov, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. He changed into Santa Claus and handed out gifts to children himself, which were specially selected for the children on the basis of their letters to the winter wizard.
On December 28, the servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh, together with benefactors, on the eve of the New Year holidays, simultaneously held more than 10 humanitarian actions in the Askeran region per day. Specialists of the Center for Humanitarian Response congratulated and presented gifts to more than 1,700 children from kindergartens and schools in remote settlements of the region located near the line of demarcation of the parties.
